The Champions for Christ Foundation was established in 1986 by Mac Snyder as a member at City View First Baptist Church in Greenville, South Carolina. The vision of the Foundation was to help students going into full time ministry with scholarship assistance. Mr. Snyder established and chartered the Foundation to operate with only volunteer staff that had the same passion he did so that all income from the Foundation would be used for scholarships. For the past twenty-seven years Champions for Christ has operated with entirely volunteer staff, officers, board, legal services, accounting services and a donated office building so that almost 100% of all income generated by the Foundation goes to provide student scholarship opportunities.
In 1996 Champions for Christ became incorporated under new IRS guidelines as a non-profit corporation and in 1997 received 501C3 tax exempt status.
All donations to the Foundation are invested and the yield from the investments are awarded three times a year as scholarships to deserving, qualified students chosen by the board. Mr. Snyder’s vision was that the principle account of the Foundation would never be spent so that scholarships could continue being awarded until the Lord returns. God has greatly blessed the Champions for Christ Foundation and we are approaching the two million dollar mark in scholarships given so far.
With God’s help, because this truly is God’s Foundation, Champions for Christ will continue to provide scholarships and help prepare students entering full time Christian service until our Lord returns. Over the years the Foundation has continued to grow from donations, estates, individual, church and corporate gifts. We would ask you to learn more about the Champions for Christ Foundation and consider making a donation that will work till the Lord returns.
